The Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker, or Triplane, was a German First World War fighter introduced in 1917. Its three-wing design gave it exceptional maneuverability and climbing ability, making it highly effective in close-range dogfights, although it was slower than many contemporary fighters and had limited range.

The Dr.I became famous through Manfred von Richthofen, the “Red Baron,” who flew several examples and scored a number of victories in the type. Despite its iconic reputation, relatively few were built and its frontline service was brief, but its distinctive shape and association with Richthofen made it one of the most recognizable aircraft of World War I.
